The Niagara Series

The inn is pleased to host a special dinner series starting in January 2010 designed to foster discussion on subjects of importance to the development of Niagara. It’s an important year for Niagara, as we “set the table” for the October 25 2010 municipal and regional elections.

Set in a single table format, and limited to only 40 persons, these nine evening sessions will be thought provoking, open to all, and led by an authority on the subject.

To reserve your place simply call 905.680.9581 or email guestservices@keefermansion.com The cost is $50 per person (drinks excl.).  This includes a 3 course dinner, all taxes and gratuities. The fee is payable upon booking, and while cancellations aren’t easy for us, we will gladly accept substitutions.

All sessions are scheduled from 6-9pm.

Both Niagara’s – Our Bi-National Region ….Opportunities and Opportunities

Hosted by Kenneth Franasiak, President, Calamar

Arlene White, Executive Director, Binational Tourism Alliance

Its easy to believe that Niagara Canada ends at a river…it really doesn’t. The Peace Bridge is only 1768 meters long…just under two kilometres.  That’s less than the distance between downtown St.Catharines and the Pen Centre.  The Niagara Region in Canada is home to about 430,000 people.  Learn to cross that elusive 1768 meters..and your business has access to another 1.2 million people in just the Buffalo-Niagara-Cattaraugus Counties.  That bridge runs both ways…Niagara Canada is the gateway into the entire GTA market…with 6 million people about an hour away.

There are very strong historic, cultural, social, and business ties that bind our Regions together.

Arlene and Kenneth are passionate, Bi National Niagarans.  Both have participated in the Bi national economy…either directly or in a linking role putting people and opportunities together. Join us for an evening of considering the possible as we explore the opportunities of thinking bi nationally and embracing the incredible untapped potential of our region.

The Power of Partnerships in Fostering Innovation in Niagara

Hosted by: Jack N. Lightstone, President Brock University

To improve the lives of Niagarans, Niagara must become a "community of innovation" in the cultural, social and economic spheres. In a globalized context, where even many basic support services can be sub-contracted to players around the world, maintaining a vibrant sustainable community requires that we demonstrate the capacity to do things better, to do them more effectively, or to do things that no one else can do at all. Only by effectively coordinating the expertise and services of all relevant partners will we achieve our ends. If we can do this well, we can, over time, make Niagara one the best places to launch a new enterprise or to franchise to the world a new service.
